Walks

There are multiple walks in the region with the local Kaitoke Regional Park 15 minutes away and the film location of Rivendell in Lord of the Rings.

Kaitoke has some of the most pristine lowland rainforest in the region. Take a refreshing dip in the river at some of the many water holes or dare to walk the swing bridge into the heart of the Rimu and Rata forest. A brochure offering all the options for walking and biking trails can be found at our reception.

Cape Palliser & Putangirua Pinnacles both located just over the hill, is the Cape Palliser Lighthouse and the Putangirua Pinnacles. The Putangirua Pinnacles are a geological formation and one of New Zealand's best examples of badlands erosion.

Rangituhi Trail is a 3.5km  out and back trail located near Porirua, Wellington. It features beautiful wild flowers and amazing views. There are different ways to access the peak such as winding tracks and steps (729) if you wanted more of a challenge.
